Cape Cod House Plans

The Cape Cod style originated with the colonists who came from England to New England in the 17th century. Identifying charachteristics include a symmetrical appearance with front covered entry at the center of the house, multi-paned double hung windows, and shutters. The roof is a simple gable design with a steep pitch creating enough room for second story living space under the roof line. Window or shed dormers are added to make second-floor living more comfortable. The exterior of the home is wood framed with lap, shake, wide clapboard or shingle siding. Frank Betz Associates, Inc. Cape Cod style home plans are designed with the heart of the home in mind featuring a front porch, large open floor plan, fireplace, ample windows and the master on the main floor.
